Where the Hell is everyone?!

I know that I have never posted on this forum before, but HST is a personal hero of mine and I ashamed that this group has died with him. It is my opinion that Gonzo doesn't strictly apply to journalism, but is rather a way of life. What is Gonzo to you? Lets talk

I began wondering if this group was decided buried with HST.

I'm a journo myself, come from SA and plan to do war reporting in less than a year.

There are others here. The group wasn't very well promoted outside more adult circles. It took me quite some time to find.

Death by decision, that's our boy, HST. Not like RAW who hung out as long as he could, love his soul. George Carlin says life is worth losing. As long as we're still living, we owe it to gonzos everywhere to write our fucking hearts out.

Glad to see their is life....
I think that one day I would probably follow in HST's footsteps.
Not like those fans of Kurt Cobain or Hendrix who all kill themselves at age 27 to be closer to their idols...no. I just feel that the career path I chose is going to lead me down a destructive path of self realization, and perception of the world, that I can't come back from.
When we reach a point of total disillusionment with the place we live in, our own lives and the lives of people close to us, we realize the importance of death by decision.
I'll decide when my time is nigh, and I will choose how I go. That way I keep my pride, and can manage to make the necessary amends and administration before I go.

Oh, sorry. Anyway, I agree that suicide isn't always selfish. But then again, there are those that believe that it was some murder conspiracy. Then again, some people believe that everything is a conspiracy.
